British Teachers Want To Cane Students

10.06.2008 - Cane is needed again to give children a lesson say a fifth of teachers

According to a Times Online article, one fifth of British teachers wish for caning to be allowed in the classroom once again. Teacher Judith Cookson had this to say: "There are too many anger management people and their ilk who give children the idea that it is their right to flounce out of lessons for time out because they have problems with their temper. They should be caned instead."

This rash reasoning is typical of Britons. Just like they drown their sorrows with gallons of alcohol, they barbarically beat children at the first sign of ill behavior. How about getting to the core of your problems instead of opting for the stop-gap solution. We know that it takes more patience and intelligence to understand a problem as opposed to simply reacting to it, but if your career is in the education of children, shouldn't patience and intelligence be a prerequisite? Get your act together, England. Don't you see that caning children will only produce a new generation of cane-beaters. Take the moral high ground and break the cycle now, futures are dependent on it.
