Philadelphia, PA
Public drunkenness had become so rampant in London with the relaxation of drinking laws two years ago that the city found it necessary to create a
“drunks only” ambulance service. Today the “Booze Bus,” or “Vomit Comet,” enjoys a healthier-than-ever business with the support of the many Brits who are completely incapable of controlling their alcohol intake. Patient ages
range from the very young to the very old and are incoherent for their ride more often than not. According to one of the ambulances paramedics, patients usually have vomited on themselves and often have soiled themselves in some
other manner as well.
Wow. Talk about abuses of state-funded health care systems. The other day we mentioned the increase in exploding bladders amongst British female
drinkers. Now we find out that the government also pays to transport and care for those that have drank themselves into oblivion. This is ridiculous. Figure out how to take care of yourselves, teeth and liver included. On the
other hand, we can totally see why the British feel it necessary to escape the monotony of everyday life in a country as crappy as theirs.
