Sinéad O'Connor's Two Decades of Suicidal Tendancies Recently Linked to Bipolar Disorder

09.25.2007

Philadelphia, PA – September 25, 2007

It’s true; Sinéad O’Connor is bipolar. The Irish pop star (Republic of Ireland, U.K., same thing…) decided recently to seek medical advice in regards to her lifelong battle with depression. The Nothing Compares 2 U singer (oh shit, Prince wrote that? And what? Sang it better?) has been fighting suicidal urges for the last twenty years. Having felt like ass since her maculate conception, O’Connor decided it was time to get help and mentioned to her doctor she felt like killing herself.

After a stint in the psychiatric hospital where her haircut fit right in, Sinéad was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and promptly put on medication. Fast forward through a few weeks of pill popping and the singer felt right as rain stating, “I was so pleased to have an illness I could do something about. I wish I’d got help years earlier.” Thanks Sinéad, that was incredibly insightful. We at the ICBR wish Pope John Paul the II was around for your breakthrough diagnosis and recovery; if he had known there was a medical reason for your perennial baditude, he probably wouldn’t have let you hurt his feelings so bad.
