Checks and Balancelessness

07.12.2007 - The Week

Philadelphia, PA – According to the June 8th edition of THE WEEK, next year, “alcohol units” will be printed on beer, wine, and liquor labels. Now Brits will be able to regulate (or totally disregard) exactly how much alcohol they are consuming. Health officials recommend men drink no more than three to four units a day and women no more than two to three. Guidelines for pregnant women were changed from one or two units once or twice a week, to now, zero altogether.

So if a man is only having two drinks a day, but the recommended amount is no more than four, isn’t that urging common folks to drink more?!? I don’t think encouraging alcoholism is something that the British government should be doing right now, but I do think they should be compensating every citizen of the world!!
