Grassroots Organization Launches International Coalition for British Reparations
Philadelphia, PA - January 17, 2007 – Forgotten victims of the British Empire have banded together to ask for compensation for the injuries and injustice suffered over the past five hundred years. England's shameful misconduct and neglect have necessitated that a global network of citizens from all walks of life unite to seek reparations in the sum of 31 trillion pounds sterling. ($58 trillion USD)
Millions of people across the globe have suffered the crippling effects that have been handed down from Great Britain, the greatest criminal nation on earth. They are and remain responsible for such atrocities as genocide, the Industrial Revolution, global misrule and atrocious inventions such as machine guns, slums, child labor and concentration camps.
An informative commercial has been produced by the International Coalition for British Reparations which details our position on Britain and what individuals can do to get involved. The Coalition has raised a considerable amount of money to run a version of this as a TV spot in America and is looking to raise more cash to run it internationally to draw attention to our cause. The sum of 31 trillion pounds sterling ($58 trillion USD) would amount to approximately $8,350 for every man, woman and child on earth. This number was derived by adding up the following costs that can be attributed to Britain:
First Iraq War: $71 billion (As estimated by the Department of Defense. The need for U.S. intervention in the Middle East is a direct consequence of Britain's early support of the House of Saud and conflicting promises made to the Israelis and Palestinians).
Second Iraq War: $282 billion+ (As calculated by Congressional Appropriations. The irrational anger of radical Islam as embodied in Saddam Hussein's rogue state, is the expression of a deep grudge that started with the slaughter's inflicted by the British crown during the Crusades and later, Britain's ruthless treatment of the old Ottoman Empire.)
Opium War Refund: $32.6 trillion ($21 million that Britain extorted from China through the Treaty of Nanking in 1842, with interest, compounded annually. Strange that China should have to pay up after it was Britain who got millions of her citizens hooked on opium.)
Versailles Refund $25 trillion ($26 billion that Britain extorted from defeated German government after World War I, with interest, compounded annually, an unfair and punitive settlement that was one of the primary causes of World War II.)
Steven Grasse, the man responsible for the organization of the International Coalition for British Reparations, eloquently states: "Nearly every major problem in the world today, from the Iraq War to the Israel/Palestine conflict to Global Warming can be traced back to some greedy seed England planted in the past. As an American, I am sick of being blamed for it all. And, it's time the people of the world stood up and got a refund."
Mr. Grasse, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a cultural studies analyst and media communications expert. His ancestors fought in the American Revolution and Civil Wars. He is a distant relative of three presidents—Franklin Pierce, George Bush, and George W. Bush. He is the author of a forthcoming work on the history of British civilization and its role in world affairs, to be published in spring 2007.
It may be too late to end the senseless human suffering that has been passed down by Britain, but there's still time to get paid.
