Dr. Neil Stanley, British sleep expert is demanding that couples stop sharing a bed because he believes it is detrimental to their health. Based on his research (with a laughably small sample size of 40 couples), he says that couples who share a bed suffer 50% more sleep disturbances than those who don't. He also pointed out that humans weren't meant to share beds with their partners.
That's quite an assertion for a lowly sleep specialist. We had no idea that in order to get your PhD in slumber, you had to become a crackerjack sociologist. Color us skeptical, but we're just not buying this shoddy research. In fact, we're going to go out on a limb here and say that Dr. Stanley here is nothing but a bleeding-heart Victorian bent on reconstituting the archaic ideals of that era. We would not be the least bit surprised if he forced his wife to wear this horrible nightgown to bed. Quit proselytizing, and keep your backwards ideals to yourself, "Doctor."
